Razorback game day is the best and busiest thing that happens in Fayetteville. If you are coming in for a home game and you want to spend part of it on Dickson Street, this is what you actually need to know: when to arrive, where to park, how long the walk to the stadium really is, and when the strip fills up afterwards.
We tend bar at 313 W. Dickson St, so we watch this happen seven Saturdays a year. Everything below was checked against Arkansas Athletics, the University of Arkansas and the City of Fayetteville in August 2026.

The 2026 Razorback home schedule
Seven home games, all of them in Fayetteville. There are no Little Rock games in 2026, which trips up a lot of visitors, and several travel guides still say otherwise.
- Sat 5 September — North Alabama, 3:15pm, SEC Network. Ryan Silverfield’s first game as head coach.
- Sat 19 September — Georgia, 11:00am, ABC. The SEC opener and the biggest weekend of the year.
- Sat 26 September — Tulsa, 7:00pm, SECN+. The only guaranteed night game.
- Sat 10 October — Tennessee, time to be announced.
- Sat 31 October — Missouri, time to be announced. Halloween.
- Sat 14 November — South Carolina, time to be announced.
- Sat 28 November — LSU, expected to be an early kickoff. Thanksgiving weekend.
The kickoff time problem. The SEC assigns a window about 12 days out, then converts it to an exact time about 6 days out. So for four of these seven games you will not know whether you are at an 11am or a 7pm kickoff until the Sunday or Monday before. The game day timeline, hour by hour
This holds regardless of kickoff time, so work backwards from whenever your game starts.
- 6:00 to 6:30am — parking lots open. Yes, even for a 7pm kickoff.
- Kickoff minus 4 hours — free shuttles start running, HogTown opens, and traffic restrictions go up around the stadium.
- Kickoff minus 2 hours 30 — pep rally in Lot 44.
- Kickoff minus 2 hours 15 — the Hog Walk. The team arrives and walks through the middle of HogTown. Free, and the best chance to see the players up close.
- Kickoff minus 1 hour 30 — public gates open.
- Kickoff minus 30 minutes — HogTown closes.
- Kickoff minus 3 and a half minutes — the team runs onto the field through a giant letter A formed by the marching band. Be in your seat.
Worked example for the 5 September opener at 3:15pm: lots open around 6:30am, shuttles and HogTown from about 11:15am, Hog Walk around 1pm, gates around 1:45pm.
The walk from Dickson Street to Razorback Stadium
About 1.2 miles from the middle of Dickson Street. Give it 20 to 25 minutes. From the far west end near George’s it is closer to a mile.
The route everyone takes: west on Dickson to Gregg Avenue, north on Gregg to Maple Street, then west along Maple all the way to Stadium Drive. It looks like a dogleg on a map because you cannot cut it straight.
Here is why walking beats driving: Maple Street closes to traffic on game days and becomes HogTown, so the last two thirds of that walk is a closed-street party rather than a slog beside moving cars. You also walk right past the Wild Band of Razorbacks monument, six bronze hogs about twenty feet tall, which is the photo everyone wants.
One thing to check before the season: Maple Street has been under construction through 2026 and some sidewalk and crosswalk work was still running into the autumn. Worth a look the week of your game.
Parking and the free shuttle
Most lots next to the stadium are permit only, reserved for Razorback Foundation donors. What is actually available to you:
- Free parking at Baum-Walker Stadium, east and west lots, about a mile south on Razorback Road, with a free shuttle. This is the best value option.
- West Avenue Parking Deck on Dickson Street, roughly $10 for the day on game days.
- Spring Street Garage behind the Walton Arts Center, roughly $10 all day.
- Harmon Avenue Garage, closest to the stadium, roughly $25.
Game day prices move around and different official pages quote different numbers, so check the official parking page before you set off.
The shuttle is the thing most visitors miss. The free Silver Route runs from the Walton Arts Center, right on Dickson Street, to a drop-off just south of Gate 1. It starts four hours before kickoff and runs roughly every ten minutes. Razorback Transit is fare-free to everyone, not just students. Coming back, the return shuttle to Dickson Street leaves from Gate 1 only, so if you exit at Gate 16 you have a walk around the stadium ahead of you.
Do not park in the residential streets west of the stadium. They tow, and they say so repeatedly.
HogTown and the Hog Walk
HogTown is the free street festival on Maple Street north of the stadium, and it is the answer for anyone who does not have a tailgate to go to. Live music, food trucks, a beer garden, TVs showing the other games, vendors, autographs. It opens four hours before kickoff and closes 30 minutes before. You walk straight through it on the way from Dickson Street, which is convenient enough to feel deliberate.
The Hog Walk happens about two hours and fifteen minutes before kickoff. The team arrives at Victory Village and walks through the middle of HogTown into the stadium. It costs nothing and it is the closest you will get to the players. If you time your walk from Dickson to land in HogTown at that moment, you have got the day right.
If you do want to tailgate: setup can begin at 5pm the day before, tents are capped at 10 by 10 feet without approval, and stakes are banned so bring water ballasts or weights. Campus is tobacco-free. Everything has to be gone by noon on Sunday.
How to call the Hogs without embarrassing yourself
Visitors get this wrong in two specific ways, and locals notice both. The call goes three times, then the tag:
“Woooooooo. Pig. Sooie! Woooooooo. Pig. Sooie! Woooooooo. Pig. Sooie! Razorbacks!”
- On the “Woooooooo”, raise both arms slowly from about knee height to over your head, fingers wiggling, over roughly eight seconds. Build the volume as you go. This is mistake one: tourists rush it.
- On “Pig”, bring both arms down sharply with your fists closed.
- On “Sooie”, throw your right arm up and out.
- Then do it twice more. This is mistake two: doing it once. Three is the standard.
- Finish with “Razorbacks!” and a pump of the right arm.
Other things worth knowing so you look like you have been before: the live mascot is Tusk VI, a Russian boar who lives on a farm near Dardanelle and makes the two-hour trip for every home game. The nickname comes from coach Hugo Bezdek calling his 1909 team “a wild band of Razorback hogs” after they beat LSU. And Senior Walk, the campus sidewalks engraved with the name of every Arkansas graduate since 1876, is more than 230,000 names across about five miles of concrete. It is free and it is genuinely worth an hour.
Stadium rules that catch people out
- Clear bag policy. One clear bag up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or a one-gallon freezer bag. Plus one small clutch up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches that does not have to be clear. Most people miss the clutch exception.
- No re-entry. If you leave to go back to Dickson Street, you are not getting back in.
- Concessions are card only. No cash.
- Empty clear plastic bottles under 20oz are fine, and there are refill stations.
- No umbrellas, no seat backs or stools, no outside food, no bags beyond the above.
- Beer and wine are sold inside, two per transaction, and sales stop at the end of the third quarter. Which is part of why the strip fills up when it does.
Dickson Street before and after the game
Here is the honest version, including where we fit.
Before the game, the useful window on Dickson is roughly kickoff minus five hours to kickoff minus two. People eat and drink on the strip, then move when the Hog Walk starts. For the 3:15pm opener that is about 10am to 1pm. For the 11am Georgia game it is a brutal 6am to 9am, and most of the street is simply not open for that. We are not either: we open at 2pm every day, including game days. So for morning kickoffs, think of us as the after, not the before.
After the game is when Dickson Street earns its reputation. The strip starts filling about 30 to 90 minutes after the final whistle, as the Gate 1 shuttle and the walking crowd both arrive. That means:
- 5 September, 3:15pm kickoff — the street fills from around 7pm. A normal big Saturday night.
- 19 September, 11am Georgia — the game ends around 2:30pm and the crowd hits Dickson through the afternoon. This is the longest, biggest day of the season on the strip, and the one where the afternoon matters more than the night.
- 26 September, 7pm Tulsa — a genuinely late one. Expect the strip to go from quiet to full around 11pm.
One rule that ruins night games: Fayetteville’s open container district, the Outdoor Refreshment Area, shuts at 10pm. So for the 7pm Tulsa kickoff, by the time you are back on Dickson the ORA cups are done for the night. Drinks stay inside the bars. For the earlier games you are fine, as long as you are 21+, wearing the wristband and carrying an official cup you bought from a participating business. Book your hotel early, and pick your game carefully
Game weekend hotel rates in Fayetteville run roughly three to five times a normal weekend. Checking live prices in August 2026, the same hotel that costs about $250 for two nights on a quiet weekend was running close to $1,000 for the Georgia weekend, and every walkable downtown property was already sold out for that date.
The 5 September opener is the cheapest of the seven by a distance, at something like 1.3 times a normal weekend. If you want a Razorback game without the markup, that is the one.

How far is Dickson Street from Razorback Stadium?
About 1.2 miles, or 20 to 25 minutes on foot. There is also a free shuttle from the Walton Arts Center stop on Dickson that starts four hours before kickoff.
Do the Razorbacks still play in Little Rock?
Not in 2026. All seven home games are in Fayetteville. The War Memorial Stadium agreement ran through the 2025 season and no new deal has been announced.
